Everything you need to know about pomegranate
Pomegranate contains three types of polyphenols present in many antioxidant fruits—tannins, anthocyanins and ellagic acid. The richness and flavour of pomegranate fruit and juice were appreciated throughout antiquity, but its deep red pigment stimulated the imagination too. The ancient Greeks considered it a symbol of abundance, and the early Christians used it in art to signify the beginning of life, and the power over life and death. Pomegranates are known to be great antioxidants.
